The Machinist - 2004
There is a problem with this film, there is a plot twist which I believe I wasn't mean to get quite as early as I did, though it was hard not to seeing as I have seen the same twist around five times now! However at the end I found it all worthwhile. Its one of those films where you only really need to watch the last ten minutes for the twist (although true the twist would mean little if you didn't know the rest of the tale), there are a couple of gory parts which some will not like. But overall this is a nice little low budget film. I'm not sure I believe the quote on the back of the box that it is destined to be a cult classic. I'm not sure it is that great but it should definately be given a watch or two as it is enjoyable!

The first thing that struck me on seeing this film was how bad Christian Bale looks after he starved himself to play the role of Trevor Reznik in this film about a man who hasn't slept for a year.There is a problem with this film, there is a plot twist which I believe I wasn't mean to get quite as early as I did, though it was hard not to seeing as I have seen the same twist around five times now!
